Report on internationalisation of teacher education published
The DITE team is very glad to announce that Report on Internationalisation of Teacher Education has been published. This is a first PR of our project fully completed and we are happy with the result.
This report is our first step towards discovering and designing a universal model and guidelines for incorporating international components into education of future teachers. Internationalisation of teacher education is, and should be, based on existing examples of and approaches to internationalisation of (higher) education. It is a summary of ideas described in the literature, as well as of attempts and strategies implemented in the institutions participating in the project.
Our report has 3 sections:
- review of the literature on internationalisation of teacher education with a special focus on internationalisation at home;
- description of the national systems of teacher education in Poland, Portugal, and Spain that are very often mentioned as a main barrier to internationalisation;
- our research that was carried out at four universities depicting the current state of internationalisation of teacher education at each of the institutions.
